Property Team
The property team serves as a group of volunteers who are the caretakers of the Keswick Presbyterian Church Property. The team is organized and coordinated by an appointed volunteer who strives to lead a team of volunteers. All team members are oriented every year and asked to service in one of the 6 main areas of the property. The areas of service are Indoor Facility, Indoors Systems, Outdoor Facility, Electrical and Communications, Grounds and Administration. This team often serves behind the scenes keeping our facility running well to enable it to continue to be used as a tool for all other ministries to grow and service our church community and beyond.
All team members are asked to commit to one year of service and provided the opportunity to step down or continue serving at the end of each calendar year. The team also strives to be a group that is there for each other supporting not only in the project at the church but long lasting relationships with each other.
What is the commitment level?
Our team meets every month to discuss ongoing maintenance, address areas that require attention and plan projects to improve functionality of our property. We take 2 months off in the summer for a break (July-August) which we try to avoid any meetings or major projects.
Our team also organized two main volunteer events throughout the year which strive to attract volunteers to support a spring clean up and a fall work day. The days often draw our church family together and leave a lasting impression by accomplishing big things together.
The first meeting of each year is a chance for new members to sit through a meeting and decide on the level of service they can provide. The 4 levels of service are as follows: You Choose
o Level 1: You are fully committed. You will provide leadership by overseeing an area. You strive to attend meetings. You strive to provide your skill when time permits to support the caretaking of the property.
o Level 2: Subject Matter Expert (SME). You don't really want to attend all the meetings but will show up occasionally. You want to be informed but don't want to lead. You do want to become the subject matter expert in one particular area and willing to be called upon when that area is in need.
o Level 3: You want to be involved but have no interest in meetings. You have skills and time to offer in helping with tasks as they arise. Call me when you need me.
o Level 4: I checked it out, this isn’t a place for me. Unable to commit at this time
