Psongs of Psummer (Vol 2)

There is always a song that catches our attention when school is out or we’re at the beach – that song that represents “summer.” It’s a song we sing around the campfire, the song we shout at the top of our lungs with our windows down as we drive. In 1986 we sang “I Want to Dance with Someone” by Whitney Houston. In 1990 we shouted out “Step by Step” by New Kids on the Block. And in 2006 we hummed along with “Hips Don’t Lie” by Shakira. What will the song be this summer?

Well we have an idea for a Psummer Psong and it’s called Psalms – The Book of Psalms. They may look like poetry or ancient writings but Psalms are really songs. Psongs to be Psung at funerals. Psongs to be Psung at weddings. Psongs to be Psung when things are going well and Psongs when things are falling apart. In other words Psalms are Psongs to be Psung to remind us that Psinging to God draws us nearer to God, even over the summer

Sometimes sequels are never as good as the original but we beg to differ. So this Psummer we again invite you to Psing to God no matter what is happening in your life. You may just find the Psalms you read become your Psongs for Psummer.

So join us at KesPres every Sunday morning for our Psummer Psermon Pseries (in August) as we Psing our way through the “The Message” translation of the Psalms.
