Bold to Believe

“Now you would think everyone would be surprised. The king would most certainly be surprised by the request of Nehemiah and not just the request for a leave from his job but for accommodation while away, money to do the work and provision of safe passage on his travels. Those in the court who heard the story of Nehemiah’s encounter with the king would definitely be surprised and those in Jerusalem must have been surprised to see Nehemiah, who travelled over 2000 km’s away to not just visit but do something they never thought would happen. So maybe the only one who wasn’t surprised with this whole situation was Nehemiah himself. For Nehemiah was bold, bold enough to believe, that when the people of God humble themselves and confess their sins of what they have done or not done within their community and seek God and commit themselves to work together, God can do a great work in the city, even our city…”
