It’s that time of the year when we experience the full range of emotions in just one week. And we do not simply watch but we travel with them, as one of them. This is what Holy Week is all about. We join is the singing out on Palm Sunday of Jesus our King to the yelling, “crucify him” on Good Friday. We experience death and of course the highpoint of our faith: Easter.
In “A Prayer for Owen Meany” John Irving writes, “Anyone can be sentimental about the nativity; any fool can feel like a Christian at Christmas. But Easter is the main event; if you don’t believe in the resurrection, you’re not a believer.” Easter is central to the life of the Christian.”
