It’s that time of the year. We call it Holy Week in the church because we have been on a journey, the Lenten Journey for some time – nearly 40 days. Some of us have given up “something” like coffee or chocolate to remind ourselves that Jesus gave up everything for us. Others of us have been carrying around our key to support our Lenten Project of U-R Home who help provide a safe “home” for women caught in sex trafficking.
Over a one week period beginning April 14th we will see and hear the highs and lows of the “Easter Story” On Sunday, April 14th at 10:30am we will join the crowd and shout, “Hosanna” as Jesus enters Jerusalem on a donkey. On Friday, April 19th at 10:30am we will shout, “Crucify him” as we join the fickle crowd wanting a different kind of Savior. But in joy we will gather on Sunday, April 21st as we gather around the breakfast table at 9am and then worship at 10:30am that Jesus has risen from the dead.
But this is more than just one week for us but a way of life because if everything happened as the Gospel writers tell us Jesus is who He said is, “Savior and Lord.” So you’re invited to join us once and for the entire week. Whether you are familiar with the stories or not we believe that something new and exciting can again happen in all our lives. See you soon.
